When in Los Angeles, there are a few places where you can get affordable clothing, dental services, and haircuts when you’re on a budget.
One place where you can find good quality clothes that are trending is the Buffalo Exchange thrift store in Sherman Oaks. They sell shoes, bags, clothing and more in mostly good condition.
Another perk of this thrift store is you’re able to make an extra buck. Buffalo Exchange will also buy your clothes from you as long as it’s still in good condition.
You can find them at 14621 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403. Or in their locations in Los Angeles and Santa Monica.
Jet Rag is located on La Brea Avenue. It is a thrift store plus every Sunday they leave out piles of clothes that are only $1 each in the parking lot. You can find anything from, everyday clothing, to costumes and vintage wear. However, if you do go inside the thrift store be warned that they will make you check in your purse or bag you may be carrying.

Health is one important thing that sometimes can be expensive, especially if you do not have health insurance. LA Dental Clinic always has great specials for your dental needs. LA Dental Clinic is located in the Wilshire Center in Koreatown.
Currently, on Yelp they have a $200 for $150 coupon. That means you buy a voucher worth $200 but you will only pay $200. They also have a new patient special where you pay $99 for Comprehensive Exam, Dental X-rays & photographs, and a Regular Dental Cleaning.

Getting your haircut does not have to be expensive. Unicorn Hair and Nails in North Hollywood has some great prices for women, men, and children. This salon charges haircuts for men at $14. Women's haircuts, depending on the type of style you want is $15. And if you are bringing your children along, they can get a haircut for $12.
The salon is located at 8001 Laurel Canyon Blvd # 107, North Hollywood. They are open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m, Saturday to 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. They are closed Sundays and Mondays.
One can only hope having a roommate is temporary and for $850 you and a roommate can share a one bed and bathroom. The 700 square feet apartment is on 5307 Sepulveda Blvd is less than a 20 minute walk to the Sherman Oaks Galleria where residents can shop, eat, see a movie or get a haircut.
While finding roommates on Craigslist, Facebook and other housing webpages are helpful there are other places to live for under $1200 a month.
It may be small, but it will be all yours. Wyvernwood Garden east of Downtown LA has a 300 square feet studio apartment for $942 the studio is located at 2901 E Olympic Blvd. Utilities are included, but renters can decide if they want to pay $125 to $150 for garage parking and live with their cats and dogs for a $300 deposit. Even though parking can be a struggle, the stereotype of Trader Joe’s being expensive has got to end. Eating healthy doesn’t always have to be pricey. From their cheap and easy to make organic frozen foods, to their $1.49 organic Greek yogurt you can make a full meal for $10 or maybe even less. This Trader Joe’s location is on 263 S. La Brea Ave has a 4.5 rating on Google.
Finally, a good quality ingredient burger joint that competes with In-N-Out’s single burger prices. Hawkins House of Burgers sells their single burger for $2.49, and you can add cheese for 50 cents. Hawkins has been on 11603 Slater St. for decades and has everything you need from breakfast platters, veggie burgers, and burritos.
If you’re looking for a cheap late night snack with more than a 4.5 star review on Yelp, La Reyna Tacos and El Chato Taco Truck are the perfect places. Both have tacos for $1.25. The Downtown La Reyna Tacos location on 2000 E. 7th St is known for it’s green salsa. You can get their tacos any day of the week but only from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. If you’re out past 12 a.m. El Chato is open until 1:30 only Tuesday through Saturday, there isn’t a condiment bar but the meat options are: carne asada, pastor, pollo, chorizo, lengua, cabeza, buche, tripe and bean and cheese. It’s located on 5300 W. Olympic Blvd.
LA is getting better public transportation in 2028, but until then public transportation is not always reliable and construction plans continue to cause traffic. Here are the best used car- lots.
